What if you could do more than you believe you are capable of? You can, if you start with believing that you can. I know this sounds simplistic, but it is. It is simple, although not easy. If you think about it, all inventions that at one time were believed to be impossible, were made possible because of someone’s thinking and belief that it could be. As a child, I remember watching the cartoon, the Jetsons, the family of the future. They had all kinds of machines that could do things that appeared incredible at the time. The one that most excited my friends and me was the picture telephone. To us (and I’m revealing my age here), picture telephones were something that seemed impossible. Now, being able to video chat is something that my daughter and her contemporaries completely take for granted.

What happens when you start to consider that the impossible is possible? One of the things I love about my coaching work is to see what happens to one of my clients when it first occurs to them that they could do something that had always appeared impossible to them. I can see their mind expand and begin to think of steps they could take that can move them towards what had previously been merely Quixotic, impossible dreams.

What might you do if you believed it were possible? What if you expanded your dreams to fit your capacity?
