Todays’ photo is of what’s left of one of the grandest trees in Prospect Park. It was one of my favorites. I probably have a picture of it somewhere the way it originally looked.
I remember the first time I passed by after it had been cut down. In place of this majestic tree was just the ragged rawness of exposed wood. It was not dark and smooth looking the way it is now that time has passed. My heart constricted
I realize it had probably been sick and needed to be cut but it was nonetheless heart-breaking to see only this tree stump left.
You can see from the size of the stump how large the tree must have been.
Try to send some love to your trees while they are alive.
