I took this photo last Thursday night.

Whenever I try to take a photo of the moon at night, it rarely comes out looking anything like a moon or is too blurry. But this photo came out beautifully.

When I took the picture, I was trying to capture the brightness of the almost full moon against the black sky. The photo looks completely different. In it, you see an amazing ring of color circling the moon with the darkness behind the clouds looking like a mountain in the background. And the vertical beam of light might even make you think the photo was of the sun.

What do you think?
